GENERAL NOTICES

Make sure to read these notices regarding the guidelines necessary to deliver an enjoyable, safe, and satisfying event. Remember, being a good neighbor is a major portion of responsible dog ownership.

LEASHES REQUIRED

All dogs are required to be on-leash while on the show site, except when crated. This is both an AKC and Armco Park rule. The park has other rules as well, so please take a moment and [CLICK HERE] to familiarize yourself with what they require.

NO CONE ZONE

There is no reserved parking, except for the show workers and specific vendors. Therefore, do not place cones in the parking areas to reserve parking or other space, especially overnight. If found, they will be confiscated and you may recover them at the Club Table for a $25 cone placing penalty and recovery fee!

DOGS LEFT IN ENCLOSED

VEHICLES

This is a Canine health and safety issue, so, if you leave your dog(s) in an enclosed vehicle, we will use whatever means are necessary to extract them if they are in distress. Therefore, do not leave your dog(s) unattended in an enclosed vehicle.

PLEASE PICK UP AFTER

YOUR DOG!

We are guests of Armco Park, so please show respect for the show site, our club, and your fellow exhibitors by cleaning up after your dog(s).

RINGSIDE CRATING

If you’re bringing crates or an exercise pen for your dog, please be mindful to not block walkways, vendors, the events, or our administrative areas. Also, please do not leave your dog(s) unattended for long periods of time.

LOST OR ABANDONED

EQUIPMENT

Please mark all your equipment with your name and phone number, and ensure you have all your equipment with you when you leave at the end of the shows. We will run a “Lost & Found” at the Club Table during the events and will do our best during show hours to find you to return your items. This, of course, will depend on if you have marked your name and phone number on them. Anything left after the show closes on Monday, September 9th, will be considered a very thoughtful donation to our club. Notice: WCKC takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items.

SHOW VET

Dr. Linda Meakin is the official Show Vet and will have a booth onsite both days for emergency services. There is also an on-call and after hours emergency clinic near South Dayton: MedVet 2714 Springboro W Rd. Moraine, OH 45439 987-293-2714

UNALTERED FEMALE DOGS

While the conformation ring does not restrict female dogs in-season, performance events do. Therefore, if your female dog has not been spayed and is actively in-season, we can not allow her to participate. All female dogs will be checked prior to performing Fast CAT. There are also other events in the local area you might enjoy visiting that are hosted by our fellow kennel clubs. One small caution, unless entered, please do not bring dogs to these events…I’m sure you understand.

Clermont County Kennel Club

Conformation Shows

On Saturday and Sunday, September 7th and 8th, Clermont County Kennel Club will host their annual conformation shows at the fairgrounds in Xenia Ohio. If you’re curious about what it’s like to experience a real AKC dog show, once you’re done having a fun time hanging out at Dog-OH-Rama, head over to Xenia and see the shows. [CLICK HERE] for more information.

Southwestern Ohio Dog

Training Club

The SODTC will host two days of competitive obedience on September 7th and 8th. While open to any and all dogs, it is a pre-entry event if you wish to compete. [CLICK HERE] for more information.

Fun, Food, and Frivolity

Are you or your dog looking for something to do together? Is the usual walk around the neighborhood getting you nowhere? Has your dog taken up the habit of barking and digging in the yard out of boredom? Could it be that you and your dog just need a little more bonding time or a few days of plain ole’ fun? If you answered yes to any of these, we have the answer for you! On September 6th through the 9th, Warren County Kennel Club in conjunction with The German Shepherd Dog Club of Greater Cincinnati presents “Dog-OH-Rama”. During this four-day set of events we will host plenty of opportunities that both you and your dog are all but guaranteed to enjoy. What sort of things will we do? Here’s the list of family friendly fun we have in store.

All Dogs Are Welcome

Your dog doesn’t have to be a registered purebred to participate in AKC performance events. AKC only limits conformation to registered purebred dogs, while all dogs of any pedigree have the ability to participate in AKC sports and events, to include those offered at Dog-OH-Rama. They may even earn official AKC titles and certifications, just like their registered purebred cousins. There are three pathways to participation… If your dog is an AKC registered purebred, simply apply their registration number to all event entries. If your dog is purebred, but registered with another registry or is not registered at all, you can obtain a Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) number. [Click Here] for more information and to register. If your dog is a mixed breed, you will need to enroll your dog in the AKC Canine Partners™ Program. [Click Here] for more information and to enroll. Either way, all dogs are invited to participate in the fun.

Event Location

The show site is Armco Park at 1267 N State Route 741, Lebanon, OH 45036.

Fast CAT

Once again we’re going to offer Fast CAT at this year’s show. So, if your dog is into lure coursing, or maybe just likes to run around your yard, consider entering the Fast CAT event held in the field just Northeast of the hotel complex. [CLICK HERE] for more information about Fast CAT. To pre-enter this event…

Farm Dog and Fetch Certifications

Your dog may be a wonderful companion in your local neighborhood. But how would they respond to being in a more rural environment with cows, horses, chickens, and other barnyard situations? This event can answer that question. [CLICK HERE] for more information. Fetch is a new AKC certification is a pass-fail noncompetitive test. There are four levels (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Retriever) based on your dog’s ability to retrieve. So, while you may not have a newspaper or slippers to “fetch”, your dog may be able to bring back a new title. [CLICK HERE] for more information. To pre-enter, click here…

Trick Dog

Your dog may be able to sit, stay, or lie down on command, but can they also do a high five or play dead? Good news, AKC has a certificate to celebrate the work you and your dog have done in training those tricks. [CLICK HERE] for more information.

Canine Good Citizen Test

Because we live in a “two-legged world”, our four-legged companions must fit in and interact with gentle confidence and a well-behaved manner. This takes time and training from their responsible owners to help them be the best they can be. The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test is AKC’s way to recognize and reward the work both the owner and their dog both have put into becoming a good citizen. [CLICK HERE] for more information.

Temperament Test

Is your canine companion stable, inquisitive, cooperative, and appropriately social? The AKC instituted this program to recognize those traits in relation to each breed and their historic nature. [CLICK HERE] for more information.

Microchips

If your pup isn’t microchipped yet, make sure to stop by Dr. Meakin’s booth to get one. These microchips align with AKC’s Reunite program, providing extra security for your pet to find its way back to you if lost. For more information on AKC Reunite, [CLICK HERE].

Vendors

If you’re a vendor looking for a good event in which to sell your wares, we have the venue for you. There are no specified vendor spots, so you can spread out your wares as you wish…within the limits of the park, of course. And all we ask is a $25 donation. To contact David Arthur, Event Chair, for additional information [CLICK HERE]. To book a vendor space…

The rates are: 8.5 X 11.0 inches (At registration booth) = $10 36” X 36” Sign = $25 4 ft Banner = $50 Banner Greater than 4 ft = Contact Advertising Chair for pricing. To reserve an advertisement…

REFUNDS

Each vendor or event provider has their own refund policies. Therefore, all refund determinations are handled by the event provider. WCKC is not responsible to obtain refunds for exhibitors and cannot issue them directly from the club.
